ATLANTA — A man hit by a car on Atlanta's Westside died after being taken to the hospital Thursday, police said.
It happened a little after 7 a.m. in the area of James Jackson Parkway at Hightower Road.
According to Atlanta Police, units responded and found a man lying in the road unresponsive. he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police shut down lanes in the area to conduct the investigation.
APD said the driver, who remained on the scene, was headed north when the victim walked in front of this vehicle.
"Speed does not appear to be a factor in this incident and charges are not anticipated at this time," APD said.
There were no additional details available due to the ongoing investigation.
