COBB COUNTY, Ga.-- A member of the "Rollin 20s" Bloods will spend the next 25 years in prison for killing another member of the gang.
20-year-old Naeem Jakwan Edwards, also known as "Philly" pleaded guilty to three counts of Violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act the Cobb County District Attorney's Office announced. This plea included acknowledging participation in gang activity by committing malice murder and possessing a firearm during commission of a felony.
Prosecutors say Edwards shot 23-year-old Justin Davis during an altercation in April of 2017. According to investigators, members of the Rollin 20s Bloods were gathered at a home on West Station Drive when Edwards confronted Davis. Witnesses told Cobb County Police that Dallas was also armed, but investigators were unable to tell whether he drew his weapon first.
Evidence also showed that Dallas was at the top of the gang at the time, and that Edwards was second-in-command. Part of Edwards' plea deal was acknowledging that the murder was committed to maintain and increase his status in the gang.
Edwards was sentenced to 40 years, with 25 to serve in prison and the remaining on probation.
