SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- Police say a man is dead after being shot in the parking lot of a Gwinnett County Walmart late Sunday evening.
According to Snellville police, the shooting happened at the Walmart at 1550 Scenic Highway. Investigators said that the victim was driving down one of the lanes in the parking lot when he became involved in an argument with the suspect outside the car.
The suspect fired one shot ultimately killing the suspect and shutting down a large portion of the parking lot as police investigated. Police said the shooter was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County jail on one count of voluntary manslaughter.
Police have not yet released the name of the victim as they continue working to notify immediate family.
The scene in the parking lot was roped by police tape into the evening as officers worked to carefully analyze the scene. While that investigation is ongoing, police said there's no danger to the public.
