CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A man was shot to death outside a Clayton County home overnight.
The victim, who has not been identified, was shot at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Southfield subdivision on Ashefield Lane near Lovejoy Road.
Lovejoy Police Lt. Michael Gaddis said a man who lives on the street was watching TV in his house when he heard gunshots outside. After waiting for about 10 minutes, he went outside and found the victim.
The homeowner said he did not know the victim, but recognized him from the neighborhood, Gaddis said. Police believe he was in his 30's or 40's.
While the man's death has not yet been ruled a homicide, Gaddis said police do not believe he shot himself. No suspects have been named.
