The sheriff's office got a call on Tuesday about a second body floating in West Point Lake. The victim discovered on Monday had a gunshot wound to the head.

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A second body was recovered from a Georgia Lake on Tuesday morning following the discovery of a dead man on Monday.

Deputies and investigators working with the Troup County's Sherriff's Office identified the second man as 31-year-old Travis Michael Lodato of Newnan, Georgia.

The deputies and investigators were dispatched to West Point Lake Tuesday at 11:17 a.m.  After bringing the body to the shoreline for inspection, investigators said there appeared to be at least one gunshot wound on the second victim.

Earlier during the day, police said on Aug. 9, they were called to the lake around 5:23 p.m. to reports of a possible body floating in the water in the area of Lower Glass Bridge Road. The victim discovered on Monday had a gunshot wound to the head. Upon further investigation, they identified the man as 46-year-old Marcus Lee Caswell of Newnan, Georgia.

The two victims' bodies will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab for an autopsy.

Investigators said, for now, it appears both victims were shot and later placed in West Point Lake in an attempt to hide or dispose of the bodies. They are working to identify any suspects and the location of where the crime took place.
