FOLSOM, Calif. — A Jimmy Buffett-esque house went on sale Thursday in Folsom, and its real estate agent said it’s attracting many lookie-loos.
Located on 908 Densmore Way, the $879,000 property features four bedrooms, two bedrooms and 14 bushes in the backyard that spell out “Margaritaville" planted by the previous owner, according to Irma Verras, the house’s real estate agent.
“He started from scratch,” Verras said.
The previous owner used cardboard cutouts to correctly plant each bush in its letter's shape, she said.
Verras said the house went on sale Thursday, or National Margarita Day, which falls every year on Feb. 22. The bushes are a huge selling point and every visitor during an open house Thursday commented on them, she said.
In its 21 hours on Zillow, the property has been viewed 8,664 times and saved by 659 people. Its mortgage payment is estimated at $5,716 per month and the house was built in 1998.
The backyard also features a pool, pizza oven and Tiki bar; and the pool was replastered last year, Verras said.
Here’s what else the house features, according to its Zillow listing:
- A 2,045 square-foot home
- A 10,581 square-foot lot (roughly a quarter of an acre)
- A three-car garage
- A two RV accesses
- A tile-countered kitchen
- Carpet, laminate and tile flooring
- One fireplace
- Solar panels
Jimmy Buffett’s famous “Margaritaville” song peaked charts in 1977.
Buffett’s evolving brand began when Margaritaville-themed stores and restaurants opened in 1985 in Key West, Florida, according to the Associated Press. In 1987, the first Margaritaville Café opened, and more spread over Florida, New Orleans and California.
The brand now offers room and board options at 51 Margaritaville hotel and resort locations, according to the company’s website.
Buffett died Sept. 1, 2023. He was 76.
