MARIETTA, Ga. - More than 1,000 Marietta Middle School students left 3rd period to pay respects to the Parkland School shooting victims.
Students organized this honor walk with the full support of their teachers and administrators.
"I noticed a lot of people doing walkouts, so we said we're going to do one, found out we're not going to get in trouble, so that was great," one organizer said.
Some students carried signs referencing gun control, while others wrote "Never Again" and the number "17" for the lives lost in Florida.
"The main thing was to just make sure schools are safe, we're protected while here," one student said.
