MARIETTA, Ga. -- Officials from several jurisdictions performed a security sweep at WellStar Kennestone Hospital after a threat.

A City of Marietta spokesperson confirmed the bomb threat made against the hospital, saying it was called in to 911 shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Cobb County Police, Cobb County Sheriff's officials, Kennesaw State University Police and Marietta Police helped Kennestone security comb the building. No destructive devices were found.

The hospital was placed on a Plan Green during the sweep. Plan Green limits who can enter and exit the building. Patients continued to receive care as the building was searched.

WellStar spokesman Tyler Pearson released a statement after the sweep was completed:

WellStar Kennestone Hospital implemented a Plan Green this morning. We controlled access into the hospital, while still treating our patients and receiving patients that needed critical care.

WellStar is prepared for situations like this. We have policies and procedures in place to keep our patients, team members and community safe.

The Marietta Police Department searched the campus, found nothing suspicious and has given the "all clear." We would like to thank the Marietta Police Department for their assistance and attention to this matter.
