Man charged in fatal Marietta party shooting

A 19-year-old man was killed and two other teens were hurt in a shooting at a party in Marietta.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- A 20-year-old man has been charged with felony murder for killing one person and injuring two more at a party in Marietta last week.

Blaylan Christopher Phillips is being held without bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight Tuesday in Building 16 at Dwells @ 750 apartment complex on Franklin Road.

Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin said a group of uninvited guests, including Phillips, arrived at the party and started an argument, then opened fire. Three people -- all invited guests -- were struck.

One victim, 19-year-old Christopher Wilson of Marietta, died. The other two are being treated at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. They were identified as 19-year-old Chauncey Martin and 18-year-old Malik Phillips.
