MARIETTA, Ga. — Videos show massive plumes of smoke and flames coming from an apartment building in Marietta Saturday afternoon.
11Alive received photos and videos of the active scene at The Falls at Sope Creek, which is located along Roswell Road in Marietta. The images show crews working to put out the fire.
The Marietta Fire Department said they received a call just before 4 p.m. about the fire.
About half of the building was damaged, impacting about 10 to 12 units. About 25 residents were displaced, a spokesperson said. No injuries were reported, but fire officials said there were several animals trapped or missing.
The Red Cross, according to the fire department, also responded to the scene to reach out to impacted families.
The fire, which made it through the attic, might cause the building to become unstable, officials added. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
