MARTA's Artbound program calls for artists to submit crosswalk mural designs

The transportation department is looking for artists and designers with strong portfolios.
MARTA Police said they responded to the GWCC/CNN Center Station around 5:45 p.m. for a call of a person shot on the eastbound Blue Line train.

ATLANTA — MARTA is looking for an artist to bring their creativity to Kensington Station with a new crosswalk mural project with a paid opportunity. 

Artbound, MARTA's public art program, is seeking talented artists and designers to submit their work for a chance to design a crosswalk mural, safe guide, helping children traveling to the station and soccer fields from the Kensington station

What is MARTA looking for

The transportation department is looking for artists and designers with strong portfolios. 

How can artists apply? 

Artists who want to apply can visit MARTA Artbound application. MARTA said applications are due by Friday, Aug. 16. 

What is the selection process? 

Three artists will be shortlisted and receive $500 each to develop design proposals. The selected artist will earn a $5,000 fee for the final design. 

A third party will paint the mural on the crosswalk.
