ATLANTA — Severe storms came through metro Atlanta and north Georgia overnight, knocking out power in several areas.
The hardest-hit appears to have been around Conyers, where an EF-2 tornado swept across parts of the city, according to the National Weather Service.
The county government posted on X that storm cleanup is ongoing and teams "are actively engaged in restoring power." The county government added that Salvation Army meals and assistance kits are available at Fire Station 6.

Georgia EMC's general outage map doesn't list specific location details like Georgia Power's. However, you can find that at the individual EMC sites. The Snapping Shoals EMC site has specific information about the Conyers area. Numbers are accurate as of Wednesday evening:
- Metro Atlanta: 41 outages
- Snapping Shoals: 2 outages
Note: Almost all of those currently appear on the map to be located in Rockdale County. However, the service area also includes parts of DeKalb County, Henry County, Butts County, Jasper County, Newton County, Morgan County and Walton County.
