ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech is ranked No. 3 on a new list of "The 20 Public Colleges with the Smartest Students" compiled by Business Insider.
Says BI, "With the rapidly rising price of college tuition, many top students are realizing you don't need to pay an arm and a leg for a quality education, and that state schools are just as great."
BI says it compiled the ranking based on Niche's lists of smartest girls and smartest guys.
According to Niche's website, it provides in-depth reviews and analysis on colleges and K-12 schools in the United States. Founded in 2002 by Carnegie Mellon University students as College Prowler, the company has since grown into one of the largest content startups in the country, Niche says.
The Top 10 schools on the list are:
1) College of William and Mary
2) University of California, Berkeley
3) Georgia Institute of Technology
4) University of Virginia
5) University of California, Los Angeles
6) University of Michigan
7) Colorado School of Mines
8) University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
9) New College of Florida
10) University of Maryland, Baltimore County
