East Point police looking for missing elderly man

Police said Charlie Clearance Ellis was last seen on Friday walking to the store.

Police said 63-year-old Charlie Clearance Ellis was last seen on Friday, July 12, walking to the store from his East Point home. Investigators said he has recently had a stroke and has a bump on the left side of his head.

ATLANTA — Police in East Point are asking for help in locating a missing 63-year-old man who they said was last seen on Friday morning. 

Charlie Clearance Ellis was believed to be traveling to the store when he was last seen at about 7 a.m. Friday at the home he shares with his sister in the 2400 block of East Woodland Circle in East Point. 

According to investigators, Ellis suffered a stroke about four weeks ago and takes medication for it.

Police said Ellis is described as a black man with a medium-brown complexion. He is about 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has a low haircut and has a bump on the left side of his head. 

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, red jogging pants with a white stripe and gray Adidas brand tennis shoes.

Investigators said Ellis was traveling on foot and does not have his cellphone with him.
