Gilmer County deputies search for missing teen who said she was going to Atlanta

Deputies said 16-year-old Shyann Richards is a missing and endangered runaway teen from Ellijay, Ga., last seen on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

ELLIJAY, Ga. — The Gilmer County Sheriff's Office hopes the community can help track down a teen from Ellijay who might be headed to the metro Atlanta area.

According to the sheriff's office, Shyann Richards was last seen around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4.

Deputies believe she ran away and left her home in the Clear Creek Road area; they added that she stated she was "going to Atlanta."

Anyone with information about Richards' whereabouts is asked to call Detective Henson in the Criminal Investigations Division at 706-635-4646 or Gilmer County Dispatch at 706-635-8911.
