GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — (Note: The boy's name and pictures have been removed from this article after he was found safe.)
A 15-year-old was found safe Friday morning after he went missing in Gwinnett County.
Police said he had left a hotel early late Thursday night without shoes or a jacket.
"After several hours of searching by police officers, (he)was located by night-shift officers who volunteered to stay late to continue searching for him. He has been reunited with his mother," a police statement said.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said the teen boy was reported missing around 4 a.m. from the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson on 5970 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in the Norcross area.
His mom told police that he went to the hotel lobby for coffee around 11 p.m. and never came back. Police had said he has a medical condition "which makes him unable to be left without parental care for long."
