Smyrna police find 11-year-old boy hours after he went missing

SMYRNA, Ga. — Smyrna Police said late Saturday morning that an 11-year-old boy who had gone missing overnight had been located safe and sound. 

According to police, Davion Prowse had left home following a dispute with his parents. 

UPDATE: Police have charged his mother in connection to the case

There was an extra measure of urgency due to the time of his departure and the fact that Davion suffers from Type I diabetes. 

Smyrna Police said late Saturday morning that Davion had been located safe and sound. They wish to thank the community for their help and prayers in connection with locating him.

Police said would be continuing their investigation.
