GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A Gainesville man who had been missing for nearly two weeks was found dead near Lake Lanier on Sunday, according to police.

On Sept. 1, police found the remains of Kenneth Holland in a remote area off Pearl Nix Parkway in a deep ravine near Lake Lanier.

Holland, 34, was last seen on August 18 in the Tower Heights area, close to the same area where his remains were discovered. Officials said he was reportedly in an altered state of mind when he went missing.

Gainesville Police have not yet released Holland's cause of death, but they said they do not suspect foul play in the case.
