At J.G. Dyer Elementary School in Gwinnett County, students were given a goal for the year, and the promise of a rich, icky reward. If they read at least 1 million minutes over the course of the school year, at the end of the year they could slime their principal Mister Michael Defilippo.
That proved to be wonderful motivation and the kids not only hit their goal, they exceeded it, reading 1.2 million minutes.
J. G. Dryer Elementar School principal slimed
As promised, the top reader from each grade slimed Defilippo, and then the teachers who had the highest participation rates in the school were slimed by their students. Ms. Joan Corriveau, Mrs. Mitzi Glasgow and Mrs. Linsey McEntee donned goggles and good senses of humor as the kids squealed and yelled with each dumped bucket.
The host of the event was PTA volunteer Tim Adams.
