CUMMING, Ga. — Four teens are now behind bars after leading deputies on a car chase in Forsyth County.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says the chase began after deputies in the traffic unit recorded a vehicle speeding on GA-400. According to authorities, the Silver Dodge Charger wouldn't pull over when deputies drove after him.
The vehicle was eventually abandoned on Pinetree Drive, off Bald Ridge Marine Road, and the five people inside ran from the car. FCSO’s K9 Unit and Drone team joined the effort to search for suspects. Three of the five suspects were located separately in the area over the next couple of hours, and a fourth was found at a local business in the morning.
19-year-old Kendrick Lucas of Marietta is being charged with Possession Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Over 1 oz Marijuana, Loitering & Prowling, and Obstruction. His $24,440 bond was paid, and he has been released.
19-year-old Justin Bryant is being held on a $14,980 bond with outstanding warrants out of Cobb County for Forgery and Larceny. In Forsyth County, he is being charged with Giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana over 1 oz, Loitering & Prowling and Obstruction.
18-year-old Josiah Jones of Smyrna is being charged with Felony Fleeing, Reckless Driving, Stop Sign Violation, Failure to Maintain Lane, Speeding, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession Over 1 oz Marijuana, Loitering & Prowling, and Obstruction. He is being held on $39,950 bond.
18-year-old Tavis Crankfield was transferred to Cobb County on three outstanding warrants. He is now being charged in Forsyth with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession Over 1 oz Marijuana, Loitering & Prowling, and Obstruction
