From now through January 2nd, animals can be adopted free of charge from the Forsyth County Animal Shelter
"We're waiving all adoption fees which is $85, shelter manager Cindy Iacopella said. "Every animal will be altered, spayed or neutered, receive a microchip, and age appropriate vaccinations."
Iacopella said adopting a pet it’s an easy process -- only taking 30 minutes to an hour once you arrive. Interested parties are asked a series of questions to determine which animal is the best fit for his or her lifestyle. Then, the workers do some matchmaking.
"Our goal is to have everyone in a home for hopefully Christmas morning, and there through the holidays," Iacopella said. "Any time you adopt from a shelter, you're giving [the animal] the gift of life."
The Forsyth County Animal Shelter, 4065 County Way, Cumming, is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:30 AM to 5 PM.
