CUMMING, Ga. — Forsyth County commissioners have revoked the license of a massage parlor that the target of an undercover operation in June of last year.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Massage Harmony Spa located at 2130 Peachtree Parkway violated three county ordinances including violations of record-keeping, lighting, and "sexual touching."
During last week's commissioner meeting, District 3 Commissioner Todd Levent said "revocation might be something to consider because it sounds like more changes are coming."
The business has been before the Forsyth County Magistrate Court based on the three violations, but the commissioners' decision was based solely on licensing.
Chunlan Wang's attorney, Peter Steckel told the board that Wang had not fired the employee accused of inappropriate touching because "they knew each other for many years."
Wang proposed supervising the employee and restricting them to foot massages. In response, Chairwoman Laura Semanson said, "that to me does not speak well to having truly taken these changes seriously."
Following the unanimous decision, Commissioner Dennis Brown of District 2 added that the county seeks to provide residents with the highest quality.
"When businesses fail to follow established law and procedures, it detracts from this goal and potentially puts citizens at risk for harmful behavior. We continue to dedicate all efforts at maintaining the rule of law and high standards throughout Forsyth County that our residents demand," explained Brown.
