Meet Lucky & Lucy: Forsyth County Animal Shelter's pets of the week

Both Lucky and Lucy are available for free adoption, as apart of being 'Pets of the Week'.

CUMMING, Ga. — 7-year-old Lucky had a close call when she first arrived at the shelter. The female cat escaped out the door when she was dropped off with her litter of kittens.

Kathy Gaglio with the Forsyth County Animal Shelter says she appeared a few days later, "I was checking inventory and I looked up and saw her staring in the window at me from outside. That's when we decided 'Lucky' would be the perfect name for her'.

Gaglio says that Lucky would do well in a relaxed home with older children and cats.

"Since she is a little bit older, I think she would do well in a quiet home without loud noise," adds Gaglio.

7-year-old Lucy arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender. Gaglio says that prior to coming to the shelter, Lucy was living in a car with her owner.

Lucy had two other siblings that came to the shelter with her, but they have now both been adopted. Gaglio says Lucy would love an active home where she can run and play outside.

"For seven years old, she still loves to play and be around all of the action," explains Gaglio.

Gaglio also notes that Lucy is not a fan of cats, and would do well in a home without cats.

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is now waiving all adoption fees for pets featured each week in the 'Pets of the Week' segment. The shelter is asking for those looking to adopt the 'Pets of the Week' to let them know you saw the animal here, first.
