GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The North Atlanta Dance Theatre is putting a unique twist on the classic holiday production of the Nutcracker and being the show to Gwinnett County this weekend.
The ballet academy and theatre train both young dancers, as well as professional dance at their location in John's Creek. This will be North Atlanta Dance Theatre's 21st production of the Nutcracker. This year's performance will feature a cast of 125 dancers including guest artists, and hand made costumes.
Audience members will get to enjoy extensive special effects including snow falling on stage, smoke machines, and fog machines. The show's artistic director, Michael Garrison says the show will include new additions to the battle scene and the land of the sweets.
“North Atlanta Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker is light and fun for the entire family. Some productions can be quite dark. I did not want a spooky Nutcracker. Our production is well structured in its narrative and quality of choreography,” says Garrison.
The show will only be available for one weekend at the Infinite Energy Theatre in Duluth. Performance dates and times are listed below:
