CUMMING, Ga. — Cumming photographer Brandy Craig says she has captured the quirky quarantine lives of almost 300 local families, in matter of days.
The local photographer says she joined in on the fun of the national #FrontPorchProject about a week and a half ago, but that she had one requirement.
"If I was going to do this, I wanted to have some fun. I told the families to get creative and bring the funny," says Craig.
Craig explains that she felt this was a moment for the community to smile.
"Things are stressful for many right now, and the project is about documenting this new normal...but I wanted to bring some joy to these families and to the people that would look at these photographs," adds Craig.
As apart of the #FrontPorchProject, Craig walks from home to home in subdivisions and takes photos of families in front of their homes from the curb.
"I've got a great zoom lens. So I just walk down the street, set up, and zoom in," adds Craig.

Craig is offering the service for free. She says that her local efforts with the project have spread through word of mouth and social media, "it spread so quickly that I have a waiting list now."
The national movement started circulating on social media by professional photographers in the last month after families were forced to stay at home due to the coronavirus.
Craig says the movement has given her a way to give back.
"This is really the only thing that I can do in my profession. When I'm taking residents' photos, it's just fun. It makes you kind of forget about everything else that is going on," says Craig.
Due to the statewide shut down that will go into effect on April 5, Craig says that she will have to stop the effort after Friday. Craig adds that she is taking a waiting list, and will start taking the photos again once she is allowed to leave the house.
