CUMMING, Ga. — Cherry Street Brewing, which includes both a restaurant and taproom, remains the only brewery in Forsyth County. The business has operated in Vickery Village for six years and is now opening a second location in Halcyon.
“A lot of Roswell and Alpharetta restaurants are opening new locations there as well, so we're excited to join their family,” Cherry Street Brewing GM and co-owner Alisa Tanner said.
She and her brother Nick, the founder and brew master, are business partners. They know a thing or two about running a successful operation, considering their father, Rick Tanner, owned a chain of restaurants in Atlanta for more than 30 years.

“We’re able to take what we were raised in, and now we're taking it to the next level,” Nick said. “It's a unique operation for us being that it's from the ground up. The excellent part of that is we were able to design the space to our need.”
“We are going to be a polished casual upscale tavern but with a relaxed atmosphere,” Alisa said.
“We're going to have a full family restaurant side. We’re going to add the adult tap room component to it. And we're putting in a full brewery,” Nick said.
“The exterior of the building and the roof is ready to go. Now we can come in and start doing our part - put our twist on the building,” Alisa said. “We now have our permit and we're ready to go, so we're starting construction February 1st and will be opening our doors in June.”
Halcyon is still on track for a spring opening, according to the PR team.
