ATLANTA — The unofficial precursor to the East Atlanta Strut made its return to the village on Friday, Sept 27. The intersection of Haas & Glenwood Ave was jammed with the familiar sight of classic cars, muscle cars, choppers and all other manner of customized vehicles as the Roll Before the Strut returned after its three-year hiatus.
Car owners and enthusiasts of all ages descended upon the event founded back in 2010 by Motor City South owner, Mike Bland. Popular neighborhood hangout and Motor City neighbor, the Holy Taco co-hosted the event.
Kirkwood resident and car enthusiast, Lica Browning, told My East Atlanta News that she was happy to see the event return.
“The weather in Atlanta has turned beautiful and everybody in East Atlanta loves to walk around and hang out. Mike’s got three great bands and all these cars to look at. It’s just been a happy time already.”
Browning was asked personally by Motor City owner and personal friend, Mike Bland. Her powder blue 1977 Datsun 280-Z, which she affectionately calls ‘Lola’ was garnering plenty of attention as well as the other two dozen or so vehicles present. No official confirmation as of yet but the Roll Before the Strut is expected to return again next year.
