'Let's grow together!' | East Point earns their place at the lead table

East Point was honored during annual Love Local 2019 banquet dinner

EAST POINT, Ga. — EAST POINT, Ga. - Food Well Alliance hosted its annual Love Local 2019 dinner in East Point. This special reservation-only dinner is held in honor of local growers and food leaders as a way to say ‘thank you’ for all of their hard work.

On the evening of October, 17th, West Cleveland Ave between Main Street and City Hall was transformed in a high-class gala complete with a live band, a ‘grazing table’ filled a cornucopia of organic appetizers, an open bar, and an elegant dining table stretched for nearly half a city block.

This year, Love Local dinner was held in East Point to celebrate the city’s appointment of being the region's first City Agriculture Pilot City.

Community leaders from cities all over the metro area were in attendance, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties sat together to enjoy the intimate family-style dinner catered by local chefs who incorporated fresh ingredients grown right here in our local soil, our local climate, and our local communities.

Food Well Alliance is holding East Point Agricultural Bus Tour this Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the ArtsXchange. This tour is the beginning of the city’s initiative to educate residents about community farms and green spaces for the Agricultural Plan.
