EAST POINT, Ga. — “There’s something about summer, everyone just wants to be outside. So of course, this is where they’re headed,” said Sissie Lang.
Lang, co-founder of East Point Farmer’s Market, explains says are starting to pick up along with the temperatures.
Located in Downtown East Point, the outdoor market has grown to be a popular stop for those looking for fresh fruits, vegetables, and natural products.
“I mean, if you’ve never had fruit that comes right from the ground you really don’t know what you’re missing,” said shopper Danella Baker.
The Farmer’s Market is part of Mayor Deanna Holiday Ingraham’s “Healthy Point” initiative for a healthier city.
The 90-day program began on March 30th, and will continue through the summer.
“It’s about eating fresher food, paying attention to what products you’re using, it’s a complete lifestyle that I think we’re all embracing,” said Lang.
