EAST POINT, Ga. — Whether we knew it or not, March is National Nutrition Month. In a concerted effort to bring attention to food deserts and overall nutrition, the Fulton County Department of Senior Services is sponsoring a free Health and Information Fairs around the city. East Point’s HJC Bowden Senior Multipurpose Facility will be hosting one of these health fairs on Friday, March 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This free event will include a nutrition seminar, free eye exams, cholesterol checks, and blood pressure checks. The fair will also feature a ‘MasterChef’-style demonstration that will pit two students from Charles Drew High School preparing a dish from a box of various foods within 30 minutes.
