EAST POINT, Ga. — You might not know the name Richard Ramey, but you should. The owner and operator of Flower Cottage on Main had the chutzpah to open a business on Main Street when others were leaving East Point.
An East Point native himself, Ramey and the Flower Cottage celebrate their 30-year anniversary this month, and he’s not looking to throw in the towel anytime soon.
In addition to three decades under his belt running the flower shop, Ramey has also created floral arrangements for Tyler Perry films such as "Daddy's Little Girls" and "Meet the Browns." He also was a florist for the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. In spite of his prestigious accomplishments, Ramey said his proudest moment was being the official local florist for Coretta Scott King's funeral.
If you want to know more about this impressive shop and its owner, visit his shop located on Main Street. It’s two doors down from Oz Pizza and right across the street from the Marta station. Learn more at the Flower Cottage on Main website.
