EAST POINT, Ga. — Several in the community are coming together to assist victims of the deadly Tornado in Alabama.
Shar Bates, President of Breaking the Chains Worldwide, is hosting a disaster relief event Saturday.
“We need to be there to help others in the face of disaster,” said Bates, “At least 23 people lost their lives, it’s time for the community to come together.”
The organization is known for community advocacy and raising awareness of issues such as human trafficking.
Saturday, March 9th, Bates and other volunteers will accept donations for victims at Andrew and Walter Young YMCA from. 4 pm to 7 pm. The group will travel to Alabama Sunday morning to deliver the collected items.
