Man suspected of car theft gives brother's identity to Senoia police

After leading the police in chase driving a stolen vehicle, authorities are searching to see if the suspect is connected to any further crimes in the area.

SENOIA, Ga. —  

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Department is looking for more information regarding a suspect arrested on the morning of February 4, 2019. Jarrett Thomas, 18 years old, led police on a high-speed chase driving a stolen maroon Ford Ranger.

Once taken into custody, the suspect gave police the wrong name, falsely identifying himself as his older brother, 21-year-old Hunter Kyle Thomas of East Point and Newnan. His brother reached out to authorities after seeing a post on the Senoia Police Department Facebook page.

Detectives with the Senoia Police Department are investigating other crimes that occurred within the past week that may be connected to Thomas. If anyone has any information/knowledge as to why he was in the Senoia area recently, please contact Lt. Ercole or Det. Worden at (770) 599-3256 Ext. 107 or 108.
