EAST POINT, Ga. — The Arts Xchange is starting out 2019 in a new location.
After decades in Grant Park and a short break the renowned center for the arts has set up shop in downtown East Point.
Exciting exhibits by many local artists are on display for the public, while classes and programs are set on the calendar.
Board member Vanessa Manley said, “East Point is right here in the center of what’s happening in Metro Atlanta. We're very excited that a lot of our artists live in this community and they're working where they live,”
Artists told My East Point News they're looking forward to using this new studios space to create and share their work.
“Well it gives me an opportunity to have a place where I can fully execute my ideas. I’ve been working in my basement for the past 10 years,” said Richard Washington.
In addition to art exhibits the Xchange has dance, musical and spoken word performances scheduled. Poetry workshops and other events are set for the upcoming months.
