Upcoming filming to give East Point the ‘Creeps’

A new horror anthology series is filming in East Point this week.

EAST POINT, Ga. — If you live near downtown East Point, you may have spotted a filming notice taped to doors and mailboxes this past weekend. While most of the time productions are given coded names to preserve the secrecy of the project, that’s not the case this time around.

The reboot of the classic 80’s horror anthology "Creepshow" will be filming an episode in East Point on Wednesday, March 6 near W. Cleveland Ave. The notice distributed throughout the surrounding neighborhoods stated that there will be lane closures and minimal traffic control during filming.

Lane Closure:
- Northside parking lane of W. Cleveland Ave between East Point St and Hwy 29 between 6 p.m. – midnight

Intermittent Traffic Control:
- Traffic holds for 3 – 5 minutes on W. Cleveland Ave between East Point and Hwy 29 from 6 p.m. – midnight

The original 1982 "Creepshow" was a film directed by "Night of the Living Dead" director George Romero and was written by legendary horror writer Stephen King. The new version is a six-episode series for the streaming service Shudder.

Walking Dead producer, Greg Nicotero, is one of the executive producers on Creepshow and is even slated to direct one of the episodes. King's son, Joe Hill, is also credited as a writer of one of the episodes in the upcoming series.
