UPDATE | 'What's going to happen to the Downtown Commons?'

East Point is (almost) ready to reveal plans for the city's most debated real estate

EAST POINT, Ga. — Residents have been wondering, what's going to happen to the Downtown Commons.

The Commons is the name given to the wedge of undeveloped property that sits in-between Main Street and East Point Street near the East Point MARTA station. That 'wedge' of property currently stands as the home for the East Point Farmer’s Market and popular local events like the Wednesday Wine Down & the Salute to the Red, White & Blue.

My East Point News spoke with the Deputy City Manager Deron King about it and he told us that news is on the way! The details of which are still under wraps but look to hear something new at an upcoming city council meeting. For more information visit the city’s website.
