GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that happened inside a home in a Lawrenceville-area neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, detectives responded to the scene in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Point for a welfare check, at the request of a hospice nurse who was scheduled to meet with an 83-year-old woman. When they got there, they her, and a 51-year-old man, dead inside the home from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police believe the woman had been shot to death; the man appeared to have died by suicide, according to officials.
Right now, police believe the shooting was domestic-related, but investigators are still trying to determine an exact motive.
