LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — A 4th suspect was named in connection with the double murder of two men who were reported missing in December and were found in a Lawrenceville storage unit last month.
Shabbazz Larry Guidry, 24, was arrested by Gwinnett County investigators and charged with Concealing the Death of Another and Participating in Criminal Gang Activity. The details of Guidry's involvement have not been released by police.
Derrick Ruff and Joshua Jackson were reported missing in Athens, Georgia on December 18, 2018. The Ford Expedition that they were last seen in was found off of Monfort Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville a few days later.
In March, police with search dogs found the bodies of Ruff and Jackson in a storage unit at the Extra Space Storage on Lawrenceville Highway. They had been shot.
Initially, investigators charged two men, Lesley Chappell Green and Robert Maurice Carlisle, in connection with the crime. Green is in police custody. Carlisle remains at large.
A third suspect, Justin Jamal Davis, was by investigators in late March. Like Carlisle, Davis remains at large.
Police believe the crimes to be gang-related, but have refrained from offering many details in the investigation. There has been no indication that the victims were related to gang activity in any way.
