Residents can eat free at Global Mall through the end of the month

The City of Norcross along with Global Mall and Walia Hospitality Group are providing free meals to citizens fighting the economic effects of COVID-19.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A special initiative of Mayor Newton’s, Norcross residents will be able to pickup a free meal via drive-through in the Global Mall parking lot off Jimmy Carter Boulevard starting April 15.

“Many families are facing difficult financial decisions during this trying time,” stated Norcross Mayor Craig Newton. “With this new effort, we will be able to feed hundreds of food challenged citizens in Norcross and the surrounding area.”

According to city officials, up to 500 freshly cooked meals will be provided each day to anyone in need of help. Distribution will take place three days a week from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the next three weeks.

  • Week 1: April 15th, 17th, and 19th
  • Week 2: April 22nd, 24th and 26th
  • Week 3: April 29th, May 1st and May 3rd

The restaurants providing the meals include Cafe Bombay Indian Bistro & CB Catering, Masti - Indian Street Eats and Ashiana Banquet Hall & Fine Indian Cuisine.
