SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — South Fulton Police and Firefighters responded after someone dropped off an old mortar shell at a recycling center Monday.
Authorities said it happened at the scrap metal facility at 7125 Goodson St. shortly before 2:40 p.m. Atlanta Bomb Squad also responded to the scene to remove the mortar shell.
Officials didn't release many details about the situation. However, South Fulton Fire Rescue said there were not any evacuations. You can see a photo of the shell below.
