DUNWOODY, Ga. — A 33-year-old woman is dead after a crash on I-285 on Sunday morning, police said.

According to the Dunwoody Police Department, officers responded to a crash on I-285 westbound at Ashford Dunwoody Road around 3:48 a.m. When they arrived, they found two vehicles involved.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a white Scion was driving west on I-285 at Ashford Dunwoody Road and began changing lanes toward the GA 400 exit ramp. At the same time, a red F-250 was entering I-228 westbound from Ashford Dunwoody Road. The F-250 and Scion then crashed into each other at the bottom of the entrance ramp, police said.

The driver and passenger of the Scion were entrapped in the vehicle, and DeKalb Fire had to extricate them. Police said that a 33-year-old woman, who was the passenger, died from her injuries at the scene. She has since been identified as Gleymar Vidal-Montes of Cumming.

The driver was sent to a hospital and is in stable condition, police said. The driver of the F-250 suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was not sent to a hospital.

The crash is under investigation. Police said that anyone with additional information is asked to contact Officer William Smith at William.smith@dunwoody.com.
