ATLANTA — In a city known for its famous Peachtree Road Race on the Fourth of July, a new twist is coming that will challenge runners in a whole new way.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has announced the Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race, set to debut in early 2025.
This unique race will flip the traditional route, starting in Piedmont Park and finishing at Lenox Square, allowing participants to run the Peachtree in reverse. Instead of enduring the infamous climb up Cardiac Hill, runners will take a downhill descent, which will surely give them a different perspective of the course.
The event promises to offer more than just a new course; participants will receive guaranteed entry into the July 4th Peachtree Road Race and a cozy fleece hoodie to brave the winter chill. Those who complete the race will also earn bragging rights for the inaugural event.
While registration details have yet to be announced, organizers encourage runners to check their social media channels for updates.
