ATLANTA — A person has died after being fatally struck by a vehicle while lying in the roadway early Tuesday morning, according to DeKalb County police.
Officers said it happened just after midnight on I-85NB near Pleasantdale Road.
Police believe the pedestrian was already down on the roadway when a vehicle struck the person. The driver stayed on scene, but the pedestrian passed away before officers arrived.
Authorities say an investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
