ATLANTA -- Authorities believe a motorcycle involved in a single vehicle accident that killed the rider was stolen.
The accident happened on Glenwood Avenue near the intersection of Parker Avenue, Atlanta officials said.
There witnesses said they saw a motorcycle traveling at high speed with two other motorcycles when it wrecked and tumbled down the roadway for a considerable distance.
The rider, later identified as Jacob Standeven, was thrown from the bike and later transported to Grady Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead.
The other motorcyclists didn't remain at the scene, authorities said.
Currently there is no evidence to show any other injuries from the incident but a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department said that the motorcycle that Standeven was riding was confirmed stolen.
Authorities in DeKalb County also reported the license plate stolen.
