ATLANTA — Rapper T.I. was reportedly taken into custody at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport over the weekend in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity.
TMZ reported the arrest happened Sunday night. 11Alive reached out to the Atlanta rapper's attorney, Steve Sadow, who confirmed that the arrest did take place.
The outlet reported that there was a warrant out for someone by the name of Clifford Harris -- which is the same as the rapper's legal name.
The Clayton County Sheriff told 11Alive that T.I. was transferred to the Clayton County Jail from U.S. Customs and that the warrant was dismissed due to lack of supporting documentation.
11Alive has reached out to authorities to learn more about what happened. We are waiting to hear back.
