ATLANTA -- A newly-released autopsy report reveals new details about what happened before and after a crash that killed Atlanta-based rapper Shawty Lo.
Shawty Lo, whose real name was Carlos Walker, died Sept. 21 after his 2016 Audi flipped and and crashed after exiting Interstate 285.
According to an autopsy report, two female passengers in the video, identified as “Deshondria and Destini”, pleaded with the rapper to slow down ahead of the deadly crash, but he refused.
The report states that Walker exited on the Cascade Road ramp and somehow went behind the guardrail, onto the grass and then down the embankment.
The women told police Walker then lost control of the vehicle and began to fishtail before flipping over, crashing and then catching fire.

Though some of the vehicle’s content burned in the fire or was spread in the general area of the accident, the rapper had a large sum of money on him. Police officers on the scene allowed the two female passengers to remove most of the money from his body, the report states. They left behind $16.35, which medical examiners found with his body, according to the report. Some $5 bills and $1 bills were spread around the crash scene, the report said.
Medical examiners also found a pill bottle, labeled “Promethazine” with the rapper’s name printed on the label with Hydrocodone and Oxycodone pills inside, the report states. Promethazine is commonly used to treat allergy, while Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are painkillers.
The cause of death has been determined as blunt force injuries of the head.
Walker was 40 years old.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 1. Before he was laid to rest, his body was taken to the Blue Flame Lounge, an adult club that he had been seen at the night of his fatal accident.
