ROME, GA (WXIA) -- Wednesday evening, authorities apprehended a 27-year-old Floyd County murder suspect Wednesday evening, along with a 19-year-old woman they were looking for.
Stevie Lamar Garner was arrested after members of the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force were able to track Garner to a Silver Creek residence. Members of the task force, along with officers from the Floyd County Sheriff's Office and the Floyd Count Police Department were able to take him into custody without incident.
They were also able to locate Barbara Maegan Witt and take her into custody. She had been reported missing on Tuesday, and was believed to be with Garner.
Garner has been charged with the March 14 murder of Patrick Wall in Rome. Garner was booked into the Floyd County Jail.
