A local sheriff's office said goodbye to one of their own on Thursday, when he died at his home.
Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff's Office said that deputy Jonathan Lyle was found unresponsive and pronounced dead.
In addition to being a member of the sheriff's office, 11Alive has learned that Lyle was also featured in a primary role on season 3, episode 13 of A&E's Beyond Scared Straight.

The show focuses on turning kids away from a downward spiral through a trip to their local jail or prison.
This particular episode ran in 2013 and dealt with a cancer-stricken father's effort to save his son from a bad life through a trip to the prison in Floyd County.
Lyle took the colorful but otherwise serious role of giving this teen - and others - a look at the life they faced if they didn't change their lives.
While the department released few details, they did provide a statement confirming the death late Thursday evening.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of a good deputy and friend," Sheriff Tim Burkhalter announced by way of social media. "We ask for the entire community to surround the Lyle family and our law enforcement family with their thoughts and prayers."
