ROSWELL, Ga. — Crews are working to put out hotspots after a brush fire in the Roswell Mill area Wednesday evening.

Roswell Fire said the flames started upstream of the dam at the Vickery Creek Trail, which is on the National Parks side of the river.

Officials said the fire is contained but one-third of an acre was burnt. There are no injuries, they added.

For residents in the area, Roswell Fire said the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has a helicopter that's refilling up water in the Martin's Landing neighborhood. Officials said the helicopter also landed at Grimes Bridge Park in order to attach its water bucket. They advised residents to avoid the area.

Roswell Police and Chattahoochee River National Recreation officials are also responding to the scene. Officials have not yet said what sparked the flames.
