Free fan distribution: Salvation Army helps Metro Atlanta residents combat the summer heat

ATLANTA — As temperatures soar, the Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Area Command is stepping up to help residents beat the heat with its annual fan distribution event. 

This year, the organization will distribute 1,000 free electric fans to individuals and families in need across metro Atlanta on Friday, June 14. The fan distribution will take place at several Salvation Army locations throughout the area. All residents need is a form of identification. 

Residents can pick up fans at the following locations:

Butts County:

• The Salvation Army Service Center & Family Store, 178 N. Benton Street, Jackson, GA 30233

Cherokee County:

• The Salvation Army Service Center & Family Store, 251 Marietta Road, Canton, GA 30114

Clayton/Fayette Counties:

• The Salvation Army Jonesboro (Citadel) Corps, 130 Spring Street, Jonesboro, GA 30236

Cobb County:

Coweta County:
